About Agnipath Scheme
अग्निपथ योजना के बारे में
The Agnipath scheme, launched in June 2022, is a transformative defence recruitment program that allows Indian youth to serve in the Armed Forces for a 4-year tenure. Soldiers recruited under this scheme are called 'Agniveers'. After completing 4 years, 25% of Agniveers are selected for permanent enrollment based on performance.

Common Eligibility Criteria
Indian Citizen. Subjects of Nepal, Bhutan & Tibetan refugees (migrated before 1962) also eligible.
17.5 to 21 Years at the time of enrollment
Only unmarried male and female candidates are eligible
Must meet prescribed physical and medical standards
Indian Army - Trade-wise Education
General Duty (GD)
Education: Class 10 / Matric Pass
Marks: 45% aggregate, 33% in each subject
Technical
Education: 12th Pass (PCM + English)
Marks: 50% aggregate, 40% in each subject
Clerk / Store Keeper
Education: 12th Pass (Any Stream)
Marks: 60% aggregate, 50% in each subject
Mandatory: 50% in English & Maths/Accounts
Tradesmen
Education: Class 8/10 (depends on trade)
Marks: 33% minimum in each subject
Indian Navy - Entry-wise Education
